The microscopes within the center must be booked for use. We will eventually have an iLab calendar and billing system, which will allow users to book microscope time with a simple web interface. Currently, users must request time via the Contact Us page.
To use the NIC systems new users must:
Submit a request using the contact form found on the site.
Have an in-person consultation with themselves the director of the center and preferably their PI to describe the experiments to be done, decide upon the best modality to be used, how samples are to be prepared, approximate the time needed, and discuss how data will be analyzed.
Complete a one-on-one training session with center staff, using an actual experimental sample.
Complete two further imaging sessions where they demonstrate competence on the given system.
Upon completion of the training, users will be granted access to the room and allowed to book the systems in the online calendar.
